Concrete gravel boards are generally fitted to concrete posts using a ‘pin cleat’ at either end of the gravel board. An M10 x 80mm cup square bolt and a 50mm round washer are used to secure the gravel board to the cleat

28 x 63mm cleat

Another option available is closeboard with concrete posts and timber gravelboard. When fixing a timber gravel board to a concrete post, it is recommended that a larger 28 x 63mm timber cleat is used. Two M8 x 180mm Roofing Bolt’s are used to secure the cleats to either side of the post, allowing the gravel board to be nailed to the front face of the cleats.
